Where pets feel at home

When your pet stays with us, we want you to feel like you know exactly where they are, who is caring for them, and that the people taking care of them actually know them. We pay attention to the little things; how they like to eat, what makes them nervous, who they enjoy being around, how they sleep, and what helps them feel comfortable in a new environment.

We are an animal care facility first and foremost, not just a boarding kennel. Our team has a strong background in animal behavior, handling, grooming, and care, which means we're constantly looking at more than just whether a pet is behaving. We're asking ourselves why they're behaving the way they are and what we can do to make their experience better.

Some dogs run through the door because they're thrilled to see us. Others need a little more time to settle in. Some want to play all day, while others would much rather curl up and have some quiet time. We don't expect every animal to fit into the same box. We meet them where they are.

All pets must be current on the vaccinations we require for boarding; which is the DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. Our Feline friends need their FVRCP, feline leukemia, and rabies. We also require pets to be free of contagious illnesses and parasites. 

Other than that, we simply ask that your pet's food be brought in either a sealed Ziploc bag or an airtight container. If the food is not already portioned out for each meal, please make sure to send your measuring scoop with it so our team knows exactly how much to feed.

That's fine! Our staff is trained in medication administration, which we provide at no additional cost. If your pet needs medication during their stay, simply provide it with clear instructions, and our team will make sure they receive it as directed.

We also have dedicated feeding stations equipped with refrigerators, freezers, and a variety of mixing bowls and feeding supplies. Whether your pet eats prescription kibble, a raw diet, wet food, or a combination of different foods, we'll follow your instructions and make sure they receive the correct meal, portion, and preparation every time.

 We provide comfortable bedding for all dogs and cats staying with us, so you never have to worry about your pet having a cozy place to sleep. We do limit the number of personal items brought from home simply to help prevent things from getting misplaced during your pet's stay.

You're welcome to send a favorite blanket, toy, or other comfort item with your pet if you'd like. Just keep in mind that Leashes and Lashes is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during your pet's stay.

 If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, we make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If we are unable to reach you, our customary procedure is to contact our on call veterinarian. All charges incurred will be your responsibility.
