Honestly, most dogs just sleep in-between training sessions. Research has shown that 30 minutes of dog training is the mental equivalent of them running 3 miles. So our furry friends usually sleep for 30-45 minutes in-between training sessions.  

 Leashes and Lashes employs several full-time dog trainers, each bringing a diverse range of experience and certifications. To ensure balanced training, your dog will work with different trainers throughout the week, preventing over-reliance on just one. Training sessions are one-on-one, Monday through Friday, followed by group classes on Saturday to reinforce social skills. Sundays are all about play and relaxation, giving your pup a well-deserved break!

We guarantee that we will do our job to the best of our ability. The reason we do not offer training outcome guarantees is due to the factors that affect the outcome of dog training and behavioral modification. Many of them are outside our control. Including, but not limited to: dog’s genetics and learning history, owner commitment, current environment, temperament, and medical conditions. 

All you need to bring is your completed information packet, your dogs up to date vet records, and enough food to last your pups entire stay. We will take care of everything else during your dogs stay!

The suitable program for you depends on your objectives. If you aim to establish fundamental skills with a focus on treat-based training, our 7-day program is ideal. For comprehensive foundational obedience, with reduced reliance on treats, we recommend our 21 or 30-day board and train options. However, if your goals involve addressing complex behavioral issues like fear or specific forms of aggression, achieving lasting change necessitates time to modify learned behaviors and associated emotional responses. In such cases, our 4-8 week board and train program is tailored to provide thorough support and guidance.

We require a 20% nonrefundable deposit to secure your spot. This deposit can be held or transferred to a different date within six months before it expires, offering flexibility to accommodate changes in your schedule. However, due to the specialized nature of our services, we accept only a select number of cases, carefully considering each dog's temperament to ensure a safe and positive experience for all. 

Please note that deposits are service-specific and cannot be transferred to other offerings such as training, grooming, or standard boarding.

Dogs naturally gravitate towards behaviors that are reinforced, adapting their conduct based on the environment's cues. Therefore, if a behavior is rewarding in one setting but not in another, dogs will adjust their behavior accordingly.

For a board and train program to yield success, active owner involvement is crucial. Owners learn how to reinforce the newly acquired behaviors, ensuring consistency once the dog returns home. If time constraints hinder your ability to invest in your own training, opting for a board and train may not be advisable. We strongly encourage participation in a follow-up class, allowing us to assess your dog's transition back home and provide additional guidance if needed.
